Everyone knows that menopause can bring about highly visible symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats. However, the gynecologic symptoms associated with menopause including vaginal itching, burning, painful intercourse, and dryness profoundly impact women’s daily lives and intimate relationships. Urogynecology Consultants are now offering The MonaLisa Touch, an advanced laser technology, to provide fast relief for the uncomfortable symptoms caused by hormonal changes.

MonaLisa Touch Q&A

Feel better and get on with life

If you entered menopause naturally or are experiencing forced menopause because of cancer treatments, talk to Dr. Wesley Hilger, and Dr. Sesh Kasturi about how the MonaLisa Touch can help provide relief for the following symptoms:

  • Vaginal atrophy
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Vaginal itching
  • Burning sensations
  • Painful urination
  • Pain during intercourse

Feel Like Yourself Again with Minimally Invasive Laser Treatments

The MonaLisa Touch uses a C02 fractional laser to relieve your symptoms, a technology similar to that of aesthetic lasers, but this is designed to stimulate new collagen production in the vaginal walls. As the existing cells are revitalized, blood flow and lubrication are improved to restore natural gynecologic functions.

What to Expect During MonaLisa Touch Treatments

Dr. Wesley Hilger, and Dr. Sesh Kasturi perform the MonaLisa Touch laser vaginal revitalization as an outpatient procedure in their office. The laser application itself lasts less than five minutes! Three or four appointments spaced about one month apart are recommended to achieve the best results, but many patients will begin to notice improvement immediately following the first session. Although the MonaLisa Touch treatments are not painful,  an anesthetic cream is often applied to reduce any discomfort experienced during the procedure. Patients should avoid sexual activity for a few days following the procedure, but can otherwise resume their normal routines without experiencing any downtime.
